Student Externship Program

Faculty Administrator: Thomas Zgonis, DPM, FACFAS

The program provides one, four and six-month core rotations in podiatric medicine and surgery providing extensive teaching opportunities to more than 50 students per year.  Students are fully integrated members of the team through their participation in weekly grand round lectures, conferences and in surgical cases.  Externs can expect thorough exposure to all phases of diabetes-related foot and ankle care and hospital protocol.  Minimum requirements include a 3.0 GPA and ability to pass part I of the National Boards.
